I am interested in going abroad, with a group that helps people, to fulfill my dream of traveling outside the US, and to help impoverished people. Has anyone here had any experience with any of these

I am interested in going abroad, with a group that helps people, to fulfill my dream of traveling outside the US, and to help impoverished people.
Has anyone here had any experience with any of these groups? How did you do? What were the difficulties? And, did you find it rewarding?? The one not listed here is the Peace Corps, and I understand they will take you if you are over 50?
