Payroll taxes fund Social Security, Medicare, and more. All the scuttlefish in congress and the White House know this. They also know that they are underfunded. They have also refused to bring in necessary improvements. So, we hired a bunch of a holes with so much sense that anything common has no point of entry.
They all should be voted out. A clean slate coming in wont know half the BS they do and get away with. Insider trading, not including themselves in the legislations they pass for the rest of us, etc. Vote their Asses Out!
Give Michele a nice little vacation along with her golf loving hubby. Maybe a week or so in NH. In January. Just to show them what Change really means!

How refreshing to see that at least someone else realizes the importance of getting away from the payroll tax cut.  This is damaging in it's present form but just wait until it becomes permenant.  It has already been given to them on a temporary basis.  Now it has been extended, albeit for a short time.  Now just try and take it away from them and put it back where it was.  The american people will scream bloody blue murder.  Who in congress is willing to stand up and tell the people what they need to be told?  None of them.  So it will end up becoming permenant and SS & medicare as we know it will end in our lifetimes.  How sad that nobody in congress seems capable of doing the right thing.

David, it's right-wing bs like yours that is exactly whats wrong with this country. Any intelligent person knows that a short term tax holiday not only helps those that can use a boost to pay their bills, buy food for their family. and in general gets spent to help the economy, but in the long term has little effect on SS and NO effect on Medicare.

Your's is the kind of mis-information that lies about fraud as a reason to tax the poor, deny voting rights to certain Americans, and is used to create right to work laws that reduces employment, denys collective bargaining for working Americans, and is based on NOTHING but lies from Faux, Rove, Koch Bros, and gets repeated daily, ad nauseum, by people like you!

What ever your bama slur means, it is NOT meaningful to President Obama,or the Congressional proposal for sanity in tax breaks for the working middle-class (something you apparently can't relate to).
Historical data SHOULD tell you that any problems with these programs are due to caps being put on upper level incomes, (maybe like yours) which limits imput to only lower income workers, which unless changed will be carried on by those future workers you profess to worry about, and so far has NOT lowered anyone benefits!

A suggestion, 'your comments might be more sensible if when you talk about Congressional actions, you're honest and mention what your right-wing Tea-baggers have done or not done to hurt this country, by trying to destroy SS, Medicare, and Medicare instead of proposing ANY jobs bill or ANY economy growth bill, instead of ONLY voting NO to obstruct these things.

It's way to easy to color your comments with right-wing slurs against our President, and then makes said comments total nonsense!

Put the BLAME where it belongs and its not BECAUSE  of  what   OBAMA and the democrats really wanted......... ......
FYI  the amount of funds going to SS has not changed.    The general fund is transferring the 2% into the system.

Obama, the Reps, and the devil  HAD to make a bargain.    You REALLY think the democrats are the ones who want to get rid of Soc Security when after Obama was elected ----Boehner put  getting rid of SS or privitizing it at the forfront.    REMEMBER  REMEMBER REMEMBER !!!!      Anyway,   Obama gets to provide the 2% FICA reduction  as stimulus,    the Republicans  get to use it to accelerate the destruction of entitlements,     and the devil gets them all in HADES   after the American dream is destroyed.

They don't even realize they are getting any tax relief !!!!!
The amount is miniscule on an individual basis - massive on a federal level.
Does this really need to be done?  I have my doubts.

I am not sure about the specific tax here, but,  I am sure I am paying more than I can afford to pay! State taxes, Federal , sales, etc. And, I can not afford health insurance , or even dental care anymore. The millionaires who are running for office have no clue what the average American is struggling with these days. When they all sent their billions overseas, and put their businesses overseas, and the jobs here went with it, we all were forgotten.
To make a killing , they invest overseas, and they could make good money here, but, they want to make a killing, not a living.
Isn't that the real issue?
And, with the millionaires in control of our elections, and our candidates before and after the campaigns, we are forgotten, again.
Will this election change any of that? I am not holding my breath.

It is surprising how many right-wing radicals post here, trying to broaden their attacks on our President, American workers, and anyone using common sense to grow our economy and create jobs.

First, common sense and historical data shows when you have a recession, you have to spend to reverse it.

Second, econ 101 shows that you grow the economy by putting money in the hands of the majority of Americans, who will spend it for things that count, i.e housing, autos, kids education, etc.

Third, this spending helps business to grow, with our economy, requiring the hiring of more workers, reducing unemployment and increasing needed revenues for more growth.

Fourth, as shown the Republican Tea-baggers aren't interested in jobs growth, economic growth, and WILL NOT give this President credit for any of these things, although we have had 24 months of economic and job growth, which scares them to death because of their four years of trying to oppress these things.

Fifth, anyone with common sense would STOP blaming President Obama, seniors on SS and Medicare, students education, and middle class workers for Bush's wars, Wall Street and big banks defrauding the housing market, as well as hurricanes and tornadoes!

Finally, if you really don't care about ALL Americans and what happens to this country and are dumb enough to want to have Karl Rove, Koch Bros, the US Chamber of Commerce and their ties to China money do your thinking for you, and you really don't know what you accomplished in 2010, with your throw the bums out and elect tea-baggers attitude in 2010, then at least admit who and what you stand for, and give this blog some peace from LIES and bs!

I've Lost so many Dr. due to them not liking the program, you have so boldly put your name on, You might want to look at it ,as the Dr sure have and they don't want it. So this is what happens to the poor soul like me that  lives in one of the worst health care in the usa,  and I only have 4 counties that I can be seen.  We always thought you would look out for us older folks but I can see, you are not... I just wonder how much money did United Health care kick back to you , to use your name, we have been member for a long time and when I saw your renewal come in, I almost felt sick, I thought you , you were here to protect us older member's , but that not the case, I'm trying to figure out how to get out of it and get the care I need care, sorry if this sounds so harsh but, Its the reality that I must face, and I will probably lose but thought you should know of this abuse
