I am a Free Cell addict.  Years ago when I first learned to play Free Cell I was told that all games were solvable.  Based on that, I would sometimes spend hours trying to solve certain Free Cell games. And  I was always successful.   The satisfaction that I felt upon finally winning, made the effort all worthwhile.  That was until now.  Now there is a game that I cannot solve.  It seems impossible to win. I have already invested 3 days trying to solve this particular game. Before I invest any more time, I need to know for certain, was I misinformed or ARE ALL FREE CELL GAMES WINNABLE???

I don't know. I tried starting at game #1 and got as far as 356, and won them all. What's the number of the game you can't win? I'll give it a try.

I don't like one feature of free cell - if you want to replay, the game still counts as a loss. I think it shouldn't be counted if you replay and win.

Seems there are some exceptions.

Hi phenomenalwoman323! In my opinion MOST of them are, but I truly believe that there will be a game or more that is not! These games are invented to keep you working at it to see just how far you can get. I have had a game where I thought for sure I was going to win, until at the end I was left with 2 cards that could not be played. Needless to say, I was very upset & disappointed. But, that's the game of chance! Good luck in the future.

Wish AARP would put in some Bingo games & Scrabble.  These are a few other games that I truly like to play along with Mahjong.  In fact they are my 3 most favorite games to play. Also, in the solitaire catergory, I love Tri-Peaks, wish they would come up with that game too.  Any one else like these game? KissxoxoKiss mollymarlene

Glad to know I am not the only one who is quirky enough to start at #1 to make sure I don't play the same game over. I have gotten to #4847 and won them all. Some it took more than one try to get. One game it took 13 tries to get. Now I get most of them in one try. Also, the secret of not having it count against you when you know you can't win the game the way you have played it is to keep hitting Ctrl-Z until the cards go back to where you want to start a different strategy.

I like 8 off and have won about 95 of 100. I didn't realalize that you could start over at first or it might have been more!
It is addicting though!

There is one not solvable in the 11000  range, but I forgot the exact #. I'm up to 12155 and that's the only one unsolvable so far. The trick is to turn off the computer without leaving the game to avoid a loss and try again later.
Windows seven is even more fun because freecell has sound and motion on it!
