THE JOKERS TAKE OFF FOR THE WEEK-END AND ONCE AGAIN THE POP-UPS RETURN ON THE GAMES PORTION OF AARP'S WEBSITE. THEIR TECH TEAM MUST KNOW SOMETHING IS WRONG BECAUSE THEY SEEM TO HAVE FIXED THE PROBLEM DURING THE WEEK BUT JUST AS IN LAST WEEK-END, WE WILL HAVE TO PUT UP WITH THIS INEPTITUDE FOR THIS WEEK-END TOO. THEY NEED TO EITHER CHANGE THEIR TECH STAFF OR THEIR TECH VENDOR AS THE SAME PROBLEMS OCCUR OVER AND OVER AGAIN.

Edit: AND NOW, THERE ARE ERRORS IN THEIR SERVER CONNECTION. NO OTHER WEB SITE HAS THE PROBLEMS THAT THIS ONE DOES.

Yes, the games are "trivial," but many of us look forward to just a few minutes to sit and relax by ourselves with a few games.  Still others may not have options of getting up and going out to do something more productive.  When something as senseless as these pop-up ads makes it impossible to enjoy these games, it's frustrating.  And the fact that it happened all last weekend, but was fixed during the week only to reappear this weekend doesn't bode well for the rest of this weekend's opportunities to play a few trivial games on the AARP site.  I'll check back on Monday...

I have played five games this morning and only closed the Spa ad about a dozen times. I thought it was a new game. Click it closed quickly enough and you win. I must not be winning, though, because it's like Timex - it takes a clicking and keeps on ticking.

Seriously, this is incompetence on someone's part. If AARP is paying an outside vendor, and I suspect AARP is - AARP needs to find a new vendor - yesterday.

The AARP site is run by Pluck. Check this out at: http://www.pluck.com/customers/

I installed Adblock Plus last week and it has worked beautifully. If you are using Firefox browser use the following link. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/adblock-plus/

For Chrome browsers: http://adblockplus.org/en/chrome

Using this you will not see any ads unless you choose to. Its easy to install and can be turned off with one click.

Switch to Firefox Browser and then install it. I was using Safari but had trouble with the games not working very well.

Just emailed AARP's Marketing/Advertising Dept.  The pop ups are annoying.  The issue is AARP installs pop ups to generate revenue because each click to that travel spa website gives money to AARP.  My email stated that there must be a better solution to generate revenue other than pop ups.

Agreed that this sounds like a practical solution. Isn't it a shame, though, that a member has to consider installing a second browser only because the vendor keeps screwing up?
