hi, free if you don't mind ads, I think it's $40 for one year:  Pogo.com  I've been on for about 10 years.  Lots of games you can play vs others or private against computers.  Ches

This may seem very simple and not as mind boddling as Suduko but Solitaire and Spider Solitaire are very good to keep the mind busy and help against Alheimers. What is important is to keep the mind active and not exactly frustrating to the body and mind.

Every morning, I go to the USAtoday website and do their Soduko, wordsearch, crossword and up and down puzzles. It gets my brain jump started.

I love Sudoku, but Hidato is even more fun for me.  The only place I found to play it on line is on the Seattle Times website.  When you get their main page, scroll way down to Movies & Games, select Games, then click on Hidato.

Try it out.  If you like it, bookmark it.  But, if you love Hidato as much as I do and you buy your own copy, like I did, you may be disappointed.  There are several variations which is nice, but only 50 games in each version, which isn't enough for me - the repeating is boring.

Second Life is an online virtual world game that was created by Linden Lab in 2003. After downloading a free viewer, I picked out my male Avatar which ineracts for me in the 3D grid (world).

I discovered all the free things to do before finally deciding to rent residential property from another Avatar.  I've learned sailing, aviation, and have a yacht and sea plane at my dock.

Living on an island is my virtual reality in this game; something that is not an option for me to enjoy in real life.

In an effort to have several alternate game sites listed under one "thread," I'm repeating this earlier post:

The Backgammon is great, and doesn't cheat (other than maybe rolling a few too many doubles for the computer!). The board is a bit small, but you can choose your difficulty level, play against a human or the computer, and it plays by the rules!
There are a bunch more games that look good, too.  I tried "Arithmetiles" last night and was soon addicted.  Thanks to "libra1939" for posting this link.

I'm also addicted to KenKen (math puzzles): http://www.kenken.com/.  You can choose the size and difficulty level.

We may not be able to convince AARP to fix their games, but at least we can help each other find other sites we enjoy!
