I enjoyed playing against other players.  I would try to beat other players scores and got to know their names.  Now, I don't know the scores of other players...not even my own. Very frustrating and took all the fun out of the games.

Is anyone experiencing this:  the new version of MOM JONG:  the small floral tiles that used to match dont anymore?

Any hints on how to get a higher score on the MAH JoNG games?

Also what are the points for that are awarded after each game play?

thanks for your feedback.

Elly

I don't like the new redesign.  It takes to long to save scores and go to the next new game.  Doesn't seem to matter which game it is.  Soo-o-o-o slow-w-w-w-w-w.  I have a limited time frame to play and get frustrated at the long wait to save score and re-load same game I just played.

Can anyone tell me what these "points" mean?

Backgammon now has a bug.  When reentering the board from the bar, the player is not allowed to reenter if the opponent has 2 pieces on a point blocking it.  The computer player now ignores that rule and cheats.  It's also annoying that the dice take longer to roll because they swirl around longer.  It's pointless and slow.

Since when does being retired mean you are a whining, complaining crochety grouch stuck in the past?  Oh wait, I forgot, old people have always been like that.  I just didn't think we would be.  You're complaining because the games didn't keep
all time high scores that were over 2 years old ?  Are you kidding?  The games didn't become smaller or fuzzy.  Maybe your screen is dirty or you need new glasses.  If you want to play games that never change, get out the old mah jonghh tiles & gather round the card table or play solitaire with a deck of cards.
Nothing on or about computers stays the same for very long.   If you don't adapt & keep up with the times, you become extinct.

Let me begin by saying that I was one of the first to post a complaint about the new design. However, I ask for forgiveness as I should have been giving thanks to AARP for caring enough to try to upgrade the games for us instead of complaining. We do need to give AARP our feedback, but perhaps we could do it in a more positive manner.

I did say I hated that they took away our high scores, but not because I am competing against anyone other than myself. I just strive to try to improve my score each time and I am not in a contest with anyone else. However, those scores obviously could not be saved in the change over, so I  have started building new scores. My scores are definitely not ever going to be on top of the leaderboard, but I do get satisfaction from improving them.

There are some glitches in some games that need to be worked out, but I am hoping that over time these will be corrected.  I don't have any intention of canceling my membership because of this change and will continue to play the games. I love a challenge, so I will just try to work through the things that are different. As far as the games being smaller, I just enlarge my screen and I then have no problem playing the games. There are some tiles that are fuzzy, especially the ones in MJ Garden.  Also, I find the cards in Pyramid Solitare harder to read, but they are not fuzzy, just a harder to read font. This may not be a problem for anyone else, and if I want to play it I can. My screen is not dirty and I just had my eye checkup last week, so I know that this is not the problem.

MJ Dimensions is so much better. It is much faster and it doesn't eat up my time going from one dimension to the next. I love it and find myself playing it a lot. Also, it is good to see that there are several new jigsaw puzzles. I think that the game site is much more appealing now and it is good to see some new games being added.

Thank you AARP for your efforts in improving this site.
