Dark Dimensions Cheats on Time

I was so happy to see Dark Dimensions (and the bonus two others) added to our games, but then I played them.  I was doing so badly compared to another site where I play it regularly I thought I was starting to get dementia.  But then I looked at the clock.

How come the AARP version begins with only 1:58 on the clock when elsewhere the clock begins set at 3:20?  That extra minute plus makes a world of difference in terms of letting you proceed to further levels and then ultimately get the chance to win more time!  Normally, on another site, I can finish the game about 40% of the time -- but in this one, I rarely even get to level 5.

The other two premium versions (Runes and Arabian Nights) have the same problem.

And there is something wrong with the code for the Arabian Nights one -- after about the third level the responsiveness of the tiles gets very sluggish, and you can click to remove up to three sets before the first set disappears.

Seriously, if you want these games to be liked, you have to fix them so that people have a chance to do well.  Otherwise, you are just frustrating us.

Finally, why are these games grouped together under the same scoring?  They are three completely different games and should be scored as such on our leaderboard.  And why must we go through the bother of choosing between them, when it would be easier to choose them directly?

Thank you in advance for responding.

I'm having the same issue with both standard Dimensions and Dark Dimensions--that is, several 'tiles' are still  fading away, blocking a clear view of those remaining for the next match. Also, there are frequent delays in the tiles' response to my tile selections, necessitating repeated clicks before the tiles even respond.  As you can imagine, these frustrating delays slow play significantly.  And Dark Dimensions' clock allows even fewer minutes to finish when compared to the original (?) Dimensions.  Have you any suggestions as to how the first two issues might be fixed? Thank you in  advance.

Arabian Nights

Well, I now tried the games with a state of the art gaming computer that is brand new without anything loaded on it besides the anti-virus program.

Arabian Nights is STILL SLUGGISH.  It can't seem to get out of its own way.

Runes has improved with the faster computer, in that I no longer have ghost images due to slowness, but it still isn't running in a way that is as fast as the normal Dark Dimensions.

I have been able to win both the regular Dark Dimensions (often) and Runes (less often) but Arabian Nights seems impossible.  I feel like I have to wait 10 seconds every time I need to turn the perspective.

Please, AARP,  ask Arkadium to fix this.

Thanks.

I use AOL and for two days have not been able to get Dark Dimensions to show up for me to be able to play. Yes, I'm a member and have been playing it for more than a year. Is anyone else having this trouble? Any suggestions about what I can do to fix it on my side?  I love this game. Thanks.

It is a waste of time to post computer problems to this discussion board. No one with AARP's IT team ever reads these and if they did, I am pretty sure they don't have the expertise to fix the problem. When problems have arisen, they first blame your computer, then they will say they are working on the problem, and finally, weeks later, they may or may not fix the problem. For example, AARP's web site does not operate correctly with Safari, Apple's web browser. It took months for me to get them to admit it was a problem with their web site and then, they told me that they will not fix the problem. You may want to try using Firefox as your browser rather than another browser and see if that makes a difference. The problem they have with Safari also exists with Chrome, another web browser.. If that does not help, don't know what else to tell you.

psychee, I think the confusion stems from the difference between Mahjongg Dimensions and Mahjongg Dark Dimensions.  When the versions are compared against GDG and LA Times and they both started with 2 minutes.

Mahjongg Dimensions:
-Starts with more time
-Only three levels
-No bonus tiles

Mahjongg Dark Dimensions:
-Starts with 2 minutes
-More than three levels
-Timer bonus allows users a chance to get more time

If you find that the Arabian Night is sluggish, one thing you can do is make sure that there are no other Flash games running at the same time on a separate window or browser. Turn off all processes that are not necessary while playing the game. The game is the exact game as the other two versions, but pulls in different asset tiles so there is no reason for it to perform different from the other versions.

Lastly, the games are grouped together because they are all the same game engine pulling in different assets. Each game can be played with the exact same difficulty because everything is the same except the art.
