this new board is horrible.  I don't understand how player can roll double sixes when he has been knocked off the board and even though I have the six bar blocked with four game disc, the player can get out.  If I roll a three and the third space is blocked, I can't move.  Please return to the old board.  At least it didn't cheat.

I agree with tulgeywoods2; this new board in no improvement.  Backgammon has been around for thousands of years, and it doesn't need "bells and whistles" to make it fun.  But having an opponent who "cheats" sure can ruin a game in an hurry. It was bad enough when the computer used to get more than its share of doubles, but now it's not even following the rules.  If a player is on the bar, and the only point open in the opponent's home board is a "5," that player CANNOT roll "2" and "3" and get off the bar to land on the 5 point.  I can ignore the animation and the so-called enhancements, but I sure wish the programmers would make sure the game is played properly before they add add the "noise and lights."

AARP's Backgammon has never had a doubling cube, but instead assigns points based on the number and location of the loser's remaining checkers.  I don't think a doubling cube has been added to this latest version, but I may be wrong.

I thought my eyes were fooling me when the game cheated but I see I was not wrong.  The jumping pieces are hard to follow also.  I do like that the computer finally figured out that it might be to its advantage in the end game not to just keep moving the higher numbers toward the "ones" but take them off as they rolled them.  I got tired of no challange and winning 95% of the time.
