The recipe below is enough for 4 or 5 lbs. of meat. Chicken, beef or pork. I like pork the best. When I use pork, I use a lean loin and cut it into chunks, then roast or pan brown it and the let it simmer in a pot for a couple of hours until shred-able. If it is chicken, I use Costco's rotisseries- easy.

I just concocted this today on the fly, so the amounts are estimations. Pretty close though.

1 1/2 cups water or pineapple juice
1/4 cup sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon of each: parsley, black pepper, paprika,
2 tbs onion powder or flakes
1 tbs garlic powder
1/4 or 1/2 teaspoon red pepper
1/8 teaspoon of crushed cloves

Place the above items in a pot and bring to a simmer.

Then add the below items into the pot and bring to a boil, then cover and simmer under low heat for 10 or 15 mins stirring occasionally.

5 or 6 cups ketchup ( two 24 oz bottles)
1 1/2 oz mustard -- brown or yellow
half bottle liquid smoke
1 oz molasses
1/3 cup wine or cider vinegar
2 oz of 1A sauce

Add shredded pork or chicken that was first fully cooked.

Let simmer for another 10 mins.
