I recently lost weight by eliminating processed foods and reducing my calorie intake. It all comes down to reducing the number of calories you consume daily and if you reduce your calorie intake to a healthy amount you will start to lose weight. I used a calorie calculator that measured my BMR to find out my daily calories required for me to start losing weight, and this worked. Along with using a weight loss goal sheet to plan out my diet and workout plan which helped me stay on track.
At last Success I have so much more energy. It is true what they say about processed foods it causes weight gain.

I agree I have heard so much about how processed foods cause weight gain. Processed food are striped of most of their nutrients and are full of chemicals, so you can see why processed foods are so unhealhty. I have eliminated most processed foods and I feel better, more energy etc.

I am Diabetic and have gone from 260 a year ago to 212 now in about 11 months. My medication use has been cut in half too. While I have done it by avoiding most processed foods I have fiound it hard to totally stop using them all the time. When I do use them I do so carefully. I found one food that seems to help better then others. For me it is pre cooked Turkey sausage. It does not seem to raise my blood sugar as much as any other processed meat I have tried. I get it in the Wal-Mart brand or in other stores where the precooked sausage products are. I recently bought a dehydrator and If I dehydrate regular precooked sausage it is dripping with oil when done. Turkey sausage is completely dry when dehydrated. That says something to me. I am now able to carry around with me a small baggy of dried turkey sausage, some raw uncooked nuts like cashews or almonds, and dried apples without sugar or sulpher. These three items give me almost a complete meal or light snack and very little increase in blood sugar. Does any one have any ideas about tasty foods to dehydrate that do not contain processed sugars?

Watch out for natural sugars in fruit they hike up my blood sugar. What you are looking to cut out or reduce is starchy carbs and fats. read the lables for carbs count and serving sizes that is where most people mess up a med. size bag of chips can be 2 1/2 servings. I call all processed foods junk food.

This is so true our supermarkets are full of processed unhealthy foods. Eating healthy will change your lifestyle you will gain so much more energy and generally be happier. Detoxing the body is an important step to getting healthy along with changing your eating habits by reducing the amount of processed food you consume.

Unfortunately our supermarkets are full of processed foods but you can go on a detox diet and detox your body by preparing more meals at home and buying whole foods and whole gains vs white flour or process grains.
