Hey AARP - you have an ad where various seniors are talking about what they're going to do when the grow up.
One of the scenes has a guy apparently on a train platform with a kid playing guitar in the foreground - the senior claims he's going to start a band when HE grows up.

Problem is, the kid's guitar in the foreground doesn't have any strings! What is it, a Marcel Marceau band?

Sheesh! The kid's probably one of the OWS guys - all icing and no cake.

I am deeply offended by this ad. As a Boomer I have no dreams for retirement. When I am forced into it I hope to live in a building, not a car. I hope to eat food that does not come from dumpsters. I hope not to die of a treatable illness I can't afford to treat. I guess when AARP is trolling for members they have to present retirement as some nirvana of resort living and endless income.  GET REAL!

I worked hard and saved hard. My savings was stolen by the banksters. The rethuglicans want to pull the rug out and deny us Social Security.  I guess I'm "envious of success."

I have to be honest, I am not yet of the age to be considered a "senior", I've still got about 15 yrs to go...though I've been getting junk mail from AARP since I was in my early 30's & they keep inventing non-exsistant people in my family & trying to upgrade a membership I don't even have....nuthin' like adding pressure to getting older. LOL No harm done & I think it's funny... Give me about 15 yrs & your persistance will probably be rewarded!

Anyways...I really want to find out what ad agency did that commercial because it is pretty much a knock-off of the Super Bowl commercial that Monster.com did back around 1998 or 1999ish (I worked @ Monster.com at the time & it was our first Super-Bowl commercial)....the semi-black n white ad with the short clips of kids saying things like "when I grow up... I want to file all day long".... "when I grow up, I want to be a Yes man".. etc. It was really cute! I love the fact that people still recycle that premise, but it kind of makes me laugh too because I am sure most people wouldn't remember a commercial from that long ago, but it was kind of a milestone for us...so it stuck in my mind after all these years and every time I see an ad that is similar, it makes me think of it.

I would just like to know:

What is the title of the tune in the newer AARP commercial?
The one with the piano and the senior citizens.

Leave him alone. He's changing his strings.
