In Response to Favorite talk show hosts... who are yours now? what about in years gone by?: It's late at night - you've stayed up to watch your favorite talk show host - for me it's Jon Stewart - with his wacky take on the news - but in years past I've watched David Letterman - and I was never able to watch either Carson, or his heir Leno, and have no idea in the world why that is... Who are your favorites? and Why?? Posted by menschmedia I remember a skit Johnny Carson did for Christmas one year, like it was yesterday. He was demonstrating how to flock a Christmas tree. I was just a kid, but I rolled on the floor laughing. Now, I'd rather watch sitcom reruns than current talk show hosts.. |

In Response to Re: Favorite talk show hosts... who are yours now? what about in years gone by?: My Number 1 all-time favorite was Steve Allen, 1954-1957. Number 2 favorite was Jack Paar, 1957-1962 Posted by MikiD54 TX for that reminder! Jack Parr was great! Son was Steve Allen! |

Years ago Johnny Carson, Phil Donahue, then Letterman, now Maher (new rule segment a riot) and Fallon (thank you notes so funny). |

Isn't it crazy that Seth MacFarlane is going to be the new Academy Awards host - he has never truly had a tv show or any sort of comparable experience. I don't know how it is going to turn out.. I will always just envision Billy Crystal singing and dancing rather than Seth-the Family Guy creator-singing in his Peter voice! This article is good info about how they chose him and what Seth thinks about the iconic hosting job |

In Response to Favorite talk show hosts... who are yours now? what about in years gone by?: I used to like Phil Donahue who I watched every morning as his show had topics that were controversial, but devoid of the silly and stupid people looking for a moment of fame. I used to watch Maury years ago until he took on the "new Maury" where he started presenting people who openly displayed their dysfunction on TV.
