My favorite is Doc Martin

Doc Martin is a British comedy shown on PBS on Thursday night (8pm CST). Dr. Martin Ellingham is a successful London surgeon who develops a phobia to blood and has to stop practicing surgery. He takes a post as a general practitioner in the little village of Portwenn. Ellingham is a gruff man who is not suited to life in the village. His lack of social skills and cold manner offends most everyone. This is a delightful comedy. I heartedly recommend it. It's now in its fourth season.

Eugene,
Are you sure you are NOT Doc Martin? Your remarks sound exactly like ones he would make.

Faulty Towers is my absolute favorite British comedy. There were very few episodes made and I've seen all of them dozens of times. I once saw an interview in which John Cleese said he based the Faulty character on an inn keeper he came across in his travels.

Benny Hill was so funny, but, I had not heard of Faulty Towers. I will check it out. Have you seen the comedy, "Are You Being Served?"  It is a bit outdated, but so funny to watch those extreme characters!

I also like "Outnumbered", a current series. It's about a family with three very verbal children.

Faulty Towers first aired many years ago and is about a couple who run an Inn. Mr. Faulty is a very negative person who can't seem to do anything right. I have it on DVD and if I need a good laugh I watch it. Occasionally it's still shown on PBS stations.
