I believe the video used of Black Sabbath was from 1970, and let's just say that time has not been very kind to Ozzie Osbourne, and Robert Plant is looking a bit shop worn these days too (just to be fair).LOL I feel old. |

One of the great things about video is being able to watch the old concerts and remember those days : ) Yep, Axl at his best, thanks for posting it! You're right about video taking us back to the old days. One thing I really love is that I get to see many groups that sort of flew under my radar in real time. Some I just outright missed them back then, and some I was aware of but paid little attention. Now I'm seeing what I missed and loving it! I had fun the other night watching some of the "Glam rock" groups. They were such fun with the outrageous costumes, platform shoes (death traps), and wild hair! A couple of favorites are Slade and The Sweet. I think Slade was having as much fun as the audience. They had some good catchy hits too. Slade: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Dpp8vIgjnI The Sweet: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qswKeWhjaUc Here's another group I missed somehow....Steelheart. The voice of the lead singer is just amazing (forget his name). It's one of those songs that should be cranked up on good speakers for the full effect. Steelheart: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DiCQ1Yhnu5s Posted by Quackers Hi Glad you enjoyed Axl.. I enjoyed all of your links as well. You are so right about having missed alot even though I (we) lived through these times. Without video, all you could remember were the concerts you attended and what was on TV. With youtube and other video sites, you can see thousands of concerts you never attended. I loved Zeppelin but have watched The Song Remains the Same a zillion times because I was not there. You can see concerts in other countries, search and view by artist throughout their careers with different bands etc. It is great.. I could spend hours watching videos.. looking forward to retirement when I will have more time. Thanks for sharing your videos.. Steelheart is a band I have not thought of in a long time.. The lead singer is Miljenko Matijevic.. who said his favorites were Robert Plant and David Cloverdale.. great! I do like the glam rockers.. bigger than life and fun loud and rocking.. my favorite is probably Motley Crue.. I got alot more into grunge after it's big day. I really enjoy concerts of Nirvana and other Seattle bands especially Soundgarden and the fabulous Chris Cornell. http://youtu.be/3mbBbFH9fAg |

A friend and I were talking the other day about how some people have such distinctive voices that you can hear just a note or two and you know who it is. Willy Nelson, John Denver etc., and of course Barbara Streisand is like that. I love this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=78Ruh0ewBVo |
