In Response to War Horse: Went to see "War Horse" on Dec 26. It was a very popular movie here in northeastern PA. The main horse is a beauty. It also played the part "Sea Bisquit", and its' real name is "Finder". If you love horses, you will love this picture. There is only one very sad part, were the horse gets caught in barbed wire fencing. The story is about World War II, I think, the owner of the horse had to sell him to the military. Afterward, they would return them if they were able. If the cicumstances didn't occur as they did, I don't know how they would be able to do that. As it was the owner's son, who took care of the horse, since it was very young, enlisted in the army. He was from Ireland. It was like a miracle that their paths crossed in France almost at the end of the war. It is a movie that could be enjoyed by the family accept for the very little ones, and that's only because of the small amount of violence. Posted by Florence12 I loved War Horse, too. And, I was glad to hear they used safe materials for the barbed wire scene, and the horse was not hurt. If he has done two movies, maybe he will get an Oscar? The story was heartwarming, showed that there was life, and respect for animals, even in a time of horrible war. |
