I am really surprised that Leonardo DiCaprio didn't get a nomination for "J. Edgar." He was superb. Personally, I thought "Win Win" should have been the 10th nomination, since only nine made the cut this year. It's mostly a comedy, but I enjoyed "Win Win" better than "The Descendants" and "The Help" and all the other nominated films.

For me the best overall film for 2011 is The Descendants, but from an individual performance point of view, I think Leonardo DiCaprio absolutely inhabited his role as J. Edgar Hoover and should not have been passed over for an Academy Award nomination that he richly deserved.

I was very disappointed in the choices for Best 2011l movies. We thought "Tower Heist" was great as it was about the only movie we saw all year that made us laugh. It was very funny and a great movie amd was not even mentioned. My first choice of those mentioned was "Midnight in Paris". We loved that movie. I think it was a very poor year for movies, and I hope it gets better in 2012.

Extremely Loud and Incredibily Awful was nominated as one of the Best Pictures of 2011! You have got to be kidding! If ever the ads and previews for a movie were deceptive, it was this one. Tom Hanks and Sandra Bullock are in the movie about 20 minutes and we go on and on and on in a search for what a key will open with meaningless results. If we are going to make movies related to the events of 9/11, we certainly deserve something a lot better than this mess.

Who cares?? Frankly, the most important movie awards are the independent movie awards. The best movies are the indie movies. Period.

I agree it was a terrible year for movies. The biggest mistake was The Descendent.....what a mess of a movie. To be nominated for an Oscar shows how low the expectations were
