Lately, Hollywood has not come up with an ORIGINAL IDEA for movie making .  Instead, they remake classic movies or add sequels to classics and in almost all cases, - they fail.  W

Anything that Vincent Price did with the Edgar Allen Poe stories and poems, I saw both of the "True Grit" movies thought they did the ending better in the second one and made Marshall Rooster Cogburn a bit more salty and meaner, although John Wayne I always thought did a better job in "Rooste Cogburn and The Lady" than in "True Grit"...just my 2c worth.

None should be 're-made'.
The reasons:
The script writers are inferior, maybe not of their own volition but because with the 'virtual reality' and sound and light shows, they're not needed.
Therefore the actors have no challenge to show whether they're good or just pathetic, which they appear to be.
Thank goodness for old movies. LEAVE THEM ALONE.

After the recent, wretched remake of The Women (and the musical they made in the 50s with June Allyson - yick), I don't want to see remakes.

How about more theaters offering to show originals on a big screen!! Bring back the classic movie rep theaters!

I recently read that they are remaking "The Thin Man," with Johnny Depp already signed on in the William Powell/Nick Charles role. My vote for the Myrna Loy/Nora Charles role is Sandra Bullock.

Since I love screwball comedies, I wouldn't mind seeing Frank Capra's "You Can't Take It With You" get a modern makeover. The problem is that not too many younger stars today have the star power to be cast as the lead in movies. Personally, I think Josh Duhamel or up-and-comer James Wolk would make good choices for the Jimmy Stewart role. And Amy Adams or Isla Fisher in the Jean Arthur role.

A re-make of Gone With The Wind? Oh, that might be possible, but , they could never do one that is as good as the original!

Brother from Another Planet by John Sayles. I would imagine different people, sensibilities and at this point more include women and the elderly... Seeing these problems with 21st century eyes would be intriguing...
