Do you remember the shock everyone felt when that woman was completely covered with gold paint (and killed because her skin couldn't breathe) in Goldfinger? What about Odd Job?

Here's my own memory of how James Bond affected me as a young teen.

My favorite James Bond movie is "Goldfinger." My favorite James Bond is Sean Connery. My favorite Bond "girl" is Jane Seymour as Solitaire in "Live and Let Die." Though not the main villain in that movie, I thought that Geoffrey Holder as Baron Samedi, the Voodoo King., was terrific. I also remember him (and his booming Ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha laugh) from all those 7-Up commercials in the 1970s-80s. :-) Also, not the main villian in "Goldfinger," I liked Harold Sakata as Odd Job ... the bodyguard with the deadly bowler hat! And my favorite James Bond theme songs are "Live and Let Die" by Paul McCartney & Wings and "Nobody Does It Better" by Carly Simon from "the Spy Who Loved Me."

The "best" James Bond, Daniel Craig. The scripts are so much better; the action is sooooooo much better, and he is the actor who better carries it off than any of the previous actors who have had the role. In character he is moody; he's flawed and reacts with extreme prejudice in a more believable manner than the prior Bond's. You believe this man is a stone cold killer with a license to do so.

Dame Judi Dench is the consumate Bond girl, only she is a woman more than a girl. She commands Bonds respect; they are fiercely loyal to one another. He will do what she wants; and never question it.

The best James Bond theme is the main theme. All the rest of them are just songs that are part of a movie. That theme is the movie; you know it when you hear it and you expect more of it.

I think Sean Connery was the best James Bond too,everytime I heard the main music theme I'll think of the movie. Entertainment Weekly has a wonderful issue out about 50th anniv of movie.Among the articles is behind the scenes how they did the stunts,an interview with George Lazenby who played James Bond only once. I have favorite scenes from the movies and favorite lines. I'd hate to have missed any of the people who played Bond, they all did it in such interesting and unique fashion that others could not imitate. Have forgotten which movie it is where I think Roger Moore is playing Bond. The woman goes into the bathroom and shrieks, having seen a snake. (Bond had earlier killed a snake in there sent in there to kill him). "Oh, I forgot to tell you," he says to the woman, "never go in there without a mongoose!"

It seems whoever the current Bond is becomes my favorite. This holds true with Daniel Craig. I'm really looking forward to "Skyfall". It's also fun to think about who the next Bond will be. But I think Craig will make a few more Bond films.
