9WAD Word List for 2/17/2012

The reality of life is never simple.
Life's song does not flow on forever.

As a child I recall wading in a small stream and stepping onto large flat rocks. Jumping from rock to rock I would look back at my wet footprints evaporating in the heat of the sun. Ahead of me was rapidly moving water that disappeared into the shadows of the woods. Standing there with my eyes closed, time was forgotten. I enjoyed the warmth from the rocks and the coolness of the water on my feet.

Life to me is a series of moments that are rapidly disappearing. Understanding that I cannot change the past or know the future, I exist in the moment. Trouble, when it arises, is but a moment that will soon be gone, disappearing into the past as I move forward in the stream of life.

The simple life is best to live,  the complex  best forgotten.
To change my ways when all my days are long and love forgotten,
To sing my song , and dance my feet,
To keep my hope and hold beliefs,

Forever growing, never troubled,
Spending time where it's best doubled,
Giving others understanding, sharing wisdom, always caring,
May my days  be many, but, mostly lived,Undecided
May my love be left to those behind,
May we all be understanding.

OK. My first attempt. don't laugh, but , give your best advice.

Following in the footsteps of my mother and grandfather before me, I retraced the well-worn path to the old swimmin hole my people have swam  in for 107 years.  My 62 year old legs hesitated, but remembered and then executed the joyous dance of my, never too distant, six year old self.  An especially fervent babtism  washed over my spirit and my generously upholstered body as I leaped into the shimmering, sun warmed waters of the Big Piney river that traverses our family farm.  I swam under the old bridge and made no apologies for my inelegant intrusion into nature's beauty. The EPA haven't yet shielded Missouri's horizons from  visual spoilage and I am grateful for this. For, if I were a boomerang, I would bounce back to shore and rewind that first great splash over and over until I was as exhausted and happy as I was 56 years ago.

Morning on the wooden bridge

Horizons shimmer
Dancing light boomeranging
Off the golden leaf

Hesitating here
I breath in the dewy air
Generous morning

No apologies
For living in this moment
With light around me

People smile at me
Especially bright this day
On this wooden bridge

"May my love be left to those behind, "

Louisie,
Maybe that is all we should leave behind. I like the concept of giving away pieces of ourselves to others so that we will live in their memories.

Scarlettd,
I like the idea of calling up "your six year old self". We all need to be able to experience life as a child. Fresh and new. I particularly liked the bit about "generously upholstered body" I can relate to that.

My, my, my; awesome!

I have not one, but two, words of advice!

(1) keep doing what you're doing.  Your style, insight and creative flow is both beautiful and refreshing to the spirit.  I like it just the way it is; and

(2) please give us a list of the first 9 words off the top of your creative head! Laughing

Bravo!

As I read this piece, I could hear the sound of water bubbling and lapping softly against the rocks.  Nothing like the gift of well-spoken imagery.  Thanks for the memories . . .

P.S.  Got a list to share?  I'm sure I speak for all when I say "love to have it!"

As life and luck would have it, I haven't had time to post the daily lists as promised.  For this, I apologize.  However, it would be much appreciated to have YOUR input.  Whether you plan to create or not, you're always welcome to post a list.  The greatest joy is in seeing the remarkable masterpieces created by others.  I LOVE IT!
