In Response to Re: A Great Read: Ruth Rendell is great. I'm reading all of hers. I'd recommend Portobelo to start. Rave reviews on NYT, Library Journal, Kirkus, etc. Also Erik Larson's historical fiction - Devil in the White City (Chicago's World Fair), Isaac's Storm (Galveson hurricane). Frances Maye's Tuscany books. Posted by bergman Ruth Rendell is the best!
