I could add zillions of books from the last few months but two that stand out-

"The Possibility of You" is a new one. It explores the question of choice and motherhood through three women, one an Irish immigrant, one from the mid 1970's and one in the present day. Eventually they're all tied together through chance.

"Tiny Dancer" was published in 2005. I couldn't put it down. A ten year old Afghani girl is burned and hideously scarred. A  Green Beret brings her to the attention of US medics which begins her recovery. She is brought to the states where her face, body and spirit heal. By the end of the book you feel like you're standing there when she reunites with her family.

IYes, I have read them...all except the last one.  I need to wait until I know I'll have enough time to keep reading.  Once you start one of those it's hard to put down.  And, they are so long

Just recently retired and am reading like crazy, i love books, i'll read anything except romance and westerns. Stephen King's new 11-22-63 is great, typical King, lots of nostalgia for us baby boomers. Very intriguing. The Millenium Trilogy is awesome. Anything by Paul Austin, Laura Lippman, Dean Koontz, John Irving (A Prayer for Owen Meany)

I'm just about to finish up King's 11-22-63 book and wanted to thank you for the heads up about it. I haven't read him in quite a while as I found a lot of his books are just too long. Dean Koontz is very favorite author but I'm not going to check out the authors you've mentioned.

I just finished that King book.  It was long but it was easy to relate to some of the notations of the times.  The last 200 or so pages really got good.

Enjoy it...

Author wants that some stories show be seen only and not read. These are the one which can be easily understand by the help of pictorial expression

I usually don't go in for the longer novel, but Ken Follett has started a new Trilogy based on the 20th Century. The first book is Fall of Giants. This story commences just as WWI is heating up. Very well plotted and written

I'll have to check it out - I just finished his novel Pillars of the Earth and really appreciate the attention to detail in a period piece.  This trilogy sounds interesting!

Since we're planning a bike and car tour to Ireland next spring, I decided to re-read the novel, Trinity, by Leon Uris.  I read it about 30 years ago and frankly, couldn't remember much of the story.  It is as enlightening and enjoyable (after 350 pages) now as it was then.  One of my favorite novels of all time.

In Response to Re: A Great Read : It sounds as though you are recommending it. I order books from the library online, so I will add it to my list.

I've read the first three, and Outlander was by far the best.  Truly fascinating, educational, and a page-turner.  I'm not sure I'll continue with the series since there are so many other worthy novels out there to read.
