Center for Aging Services Technologies
"The Center for Aging Services Technologies (CAST) is a major new initiative bringing together researchers from universities, technology companies, facility administrators and government representatives. The Center focuses on the application of technology and particularly the policy issues that impact how technology will be used successfully and priced effectively to provide aging services. CAST will drive technology solutions and play a critical role in bringing together researchers and providers."
CREATE
"CREATE represents a consortium of three universities, each with its own research team: The University of Miami, Florida State University and Georgia Institute of Technology. The University of Miami is the coordinating site with Dr. Sara Czaja as Director of the overall Center. This collaborative program includes three projects and a student research program. Each of the three research sites is conducting separate projects that focus on complementary aspects of human interaction with technology. The intent is to integrate the expertise of the three groups into a cohesive program for enhancing the ability of older adults to use technologies."
CyberSeniors.org
"CyberSeniors.org is a nonprofit organization dedicated to connecting Seniors to the world at their fingertips. It is a unique organization, providing successfully tested educational opportunities for Seniors to learn at little or no cost how to use computers and access the wealth of information available on the Internet."
Generations on Line
"Aimed at the large population of older Americans who cannot afford or choose not to enroll in computer training or Internet training, Generations on Line is both a service for access and product for learning. We provide specially programmed self-training software to senior centers, libraries, retirement homes and other locations where older people congregate."
SeniorNet
"SeniorNet conducts, participates in and reports on two types of research regarding the uses of computer and communications technologies by older adults: research that is internal to the SeniorNet organization or web site and studies that are generalizable to other populations of older adults. Results of both types of research are reported here."
