Advocacy

NRTA's Advocacy Efforts

Educator Retention Initiative

One of the most pressing concerns facing the education community, and our nation, is the issue of schools being unable to retain quality administrators and teachers. As the leading national organization for retired educators, NRTA is committed to using its influence and the collective power of its membership to help develop meaningful responses to the educator retention issue on the national, state, and local levels. Working with the advice and guidance of prominent educators and friends of education, a three-year initiative will be developed to engage NRTA members and state REAs to take a leadership role in addressing this critical concern.

Community Service

With Our Youth! and CyberSeniors

In partnership with its network of state and local Retired Educator Associations (REAs), NRTA supports community service activities that parlay educators' commitment to serving their communities. Two such examples are NRTA's With Our Youth! activities and the CyberSeniors/CyberTeens program. Read the full story.
