AARP South Carolina is concerned about the impact payday lending is having on SC consumers as revealed in a recent AARP study. During the 2006 legislative session, we advocated for statutory changes to payday lending, but no action was taken.
As a part of our ongoing effort to address this issue, AARP South Carolina is sponsoring Payday Lending Town Hall meetings to hear from consumers, service providers, lenders and other interested parties about payday lending issues and concerns and to discuss the need for industry reforms.
You are cordially invited to join us.
Please RSVP as to your attendance plans by calling Leigh Ann Littlejohn, toll-free at 1-866-389-5655. If you have any questions, please call Teresa Arnold, Legislative Director, at 803-765-7374 or Jim Love, Director of Grassroots Advocacy, at 803-765-7371.
