En español | The Government Accountability Office advises states to have at least an 80 percent funding level for their pension systems in order to pay retirement money promised to government employees. Thirty-one states fell below that threshold in fiscal year 2009. The interactive map shows the percentage of public-sector pension plans funded by each state.
