Free gift cards can be used at 10,000 restaurants

Have a long holiday shopping list but are short on cash? You can still give just desserts to each in that beloved brood, and it won't cost you a dime.

Through Christmas Day, you can send $10 restaurant gift cards with no expiration dates to as many as 40 people per day, for redemption at some 10,000 restaurants nationwide.

Restrictions may apply, such as card recipients being limited to lunches on certain days of the week or having to have a minimum total bill.

The offer is part of the Feed It Forward program hosted by, a vendor of restaurant gift certificates. Now in its fourth year, this annual event has awarded more than $42 million in free feasting.

Card givers provide their names and email addresses — and those of each recipient — at the Feed It Forward website, and eGift Cards are sent bearing $10 coupon codes. Recipients select their eatery of choice at (they can search by ZIP code) and print out coupons to bring with them.
