Save thousands in less than year!


Buying store-brand cereal or using a 10 percent off coupon at your local grocery store may help you save a buck or two, but if you really want to save BIG you’d better beef up your discount tactics.

Luckily, Good Morning America’s Consumer Correspondent Elisabeth Leamy has everything you need to know if you really want to make a dent in your spending. Over the past decade, Leamy has saved herself over $160,000 using the strategies highlighted in her book, Save Big: Cut Your Top 5 Costs and Save Thousands!. She says that each of the book’s money-saving tips has the potential to save you more than a thousand dollars in less than a year. The key is to identify where we spend the most money (houses, cars, credit, groceries and healthcare) and then unlock the saving strategies that will cut the most costs. Get this: one strategy, called “creative couponing,” can actually save you up to 80 percent at the grocery store and get you items for just pennies or even for free!
