Looking for a new car? You'll generate more green-with-envy stares — and as a result more greenbacks come trade-in time — if you choose a silver, white or black vehicle. "Cars in those popular colors are certainly easier to sell," says Paul Taylor, chief economist at the National Automobile Dealers Association. And they can fetch about $300 more in trade-in compared to similar models in red, blue, green or yellow. If you're buying, you can save up to $1,000 on some pre-owned models in less popular colors.
