Volunteers have played an integral role in AARP since its beginning. Volunteer opportunities in South Carolina support AARP's work. They also provide rewarding opportunities to the people who volunteer. But the scope is even larger: Volunteers make AARP a vital presence in every community throughout the state.

E-Advocacy Volunteers

Would you like to meet people, learn new skills and help make life better for older South Carolinians? Join AARP South Carolina's E-Advocacy Team. You do not need to be an expert to apply. At your home or office computer we will keep you informed about legislative issues that affect older South Carolinians. You will have the opportunity to contact elected officials to tell them about AARP's position on legislative issues. For more information, call Legislative Director Jane Wiley at (803) 765-7375 or send e-mail to jwiley@aarp.org.

Ambassador Volunteers

Become an AARP South Carolina Ambassador. They staff booths at community fairs and other events, and some also speak about the Association to small groups. It's a wonderful opportunity to meet new people and to let older South Carolina residents know about all that AARP has to offer.
