Making a Difference
With a state office in Clackamas, AARP is more active than ever throughout Oregon. Every day, we provide new opportunities for our members—to speak on issues that concern them, to make their own life choices, to reach their goals and dreams, and to make the most of life after 50. That's where you come in.
People like you have always been AARP's greatest resource. Today, we need your know-how and enthusiasm more than ever to help us achieve the goals AARP members care about most—health and financial security, independent living, safer and stronger communities, and many more. You can help by volunteering your time and talent to make a difference across Oregon and across the country.
State Leadership
AARP volunteers who serve on state operations and legislative teams take a lead role in implementation of AARP priorities, information, and goals. They work closely with state office staff and other volunteers.
Community Volunteers
AARP Oregon community volunteers enrich the lives of members and their families in communities across the state. Volunteers receive training and support to implement the following activities in their communities:
- Organizing community education forums on AARP priority issues.
- Working with community organizations to provide members with local volunteer opportunities.
- Supporting grassroots education initiatives.
Specific programs that AARP Oregon recruits for include: the Oregon State Office for the Long Term Care Ombudsman (state-wide), the Money Management (bill payer) Program (in Clackamas, Hood, Lane and Washington Counties), and Start Making a Reader Today (state-wide).
