AARP Tax-Aide
AARP Tax-Aide now helps nearly 70,000 low and middle-income Minnesotans, with special attention to those 60 and older, with tax preparation. This program is administered through the AARP Foundation. Learn about volunteer opportunities in your area, ask your tax questions online or, during the February 1 through April 15 tax season, find a site near you.
AARP Driver Safety Program
The AARP Driver Safety Program is the nation's first and largest classroom driver refresher course specially designed for drivers age 50 and older. The program's 1,000+ Minnesota volunteers are the reason for its impressive success. Learn about volunteer opportunities in your area and then complete the online application form. AARP Chapters
AARP Chapters offer a face—and heart—for the association locally. As a strategic link between members, communities and AARP programs and services, chapters bring members a variety of community service, education, leadership and fellowship opportunities. Chapter community service activities range from participation in national AARP programs to local mentoring and tutoring projects, food and clothing drives, friendly visits and much more. Grassroots, Elections and Advocacy Team (GREAT)
AARP provides opportunities for our members to speak out on issues that concern them. GREAT Team volunteers help AARP achieve legislative goals by working closely with AARP staff to educate legislators, governmental agencies and other organizations on issues of importance to AARP members. Minnesota Retired Educators Association (REAM)
REAM is an independent, autonomous, self-governing organization of all retired school employees in Minnesota who wish to belong. REAM conducts legislative workshops for its over 50 local retiree units and provides speakers and other assistance upon request. REAM works with NRTA/AARP on issues of concern to all older citizens at the state and national level. REAM also works closely with the three statewide public employee retirement systems and has worked successfully to achieve many pension improvements over the past 47 years.
