AARP New Jersey Wants to Know Your Health Care Stories
AARP recognizes that the United States is reaching a tipping point. Millions of Americans are concerned about their health and long-term financial security. Health care costs are skyrocketing, traditional pensions are eroding and people are wondering if they will be able to afford to retire. In New Jersey alone, over 1.3 million people are without health insurance.
The resulting lack of action must not continue. That is why AARP has developed Divided We Fail, a national campaign designed to amplify the voices of Americans who believe that health and long-term financial security are the most pressing issues facing our nation here at home.
This national initiative starts with you. AARP New Jersey is inviting you to share your story on the topic of health care. We are specifically looking for New Jersey residents who have no health care, or are underinsured, and can tell us how this affects their lives. Volunteers are being trained to record your stories, opinions and ideas about the central questions of health care costs and lifelong financial well-being.
You can share your thoughts and learn more by logging onto the AARP Divided We Fail Web site. We'll take your words, stories and ideas to state capitols, the halls of Congress, the Oval Office and corporate boardrooms throughout the country. We'll present them to elected officials, opinion leaders, business executives and the media. Your views will become an integral part of the national debate and discussion.
Also, while you are on the Web site, please sign the pledge to support our call for all to have quality health care we can afford and peace of mind about our financial security.
