A Message from AARP Georgia's State President

Welcome to AARP Georgia and its new Web site! We hope you will take a few minutes to familiarize yourself with the many online features and activities AARP Georgia has to offer.

Our membership is more than 850,000 strong in Georgia, and we're growing every day. Eight full time employees, who work with a network of AARP volunteers and other organizations across the state on issues and initiatives that are important to you, staff our state office. Together, they have been proudly serving AARP national members, state and community partners, and the general public since 1995.

As our team works to represent the needs and interests of people 50 and older, we encourage our state members to take part in the fellowship, learning, and volunteering opportunities available through AARP Georgia.

Our goal is to bring together staff, volunteers, and a variety of community organizations to connect with members where they live. Together, we strengthen our communities by getting involved in consumer and legislative advocacy, volunteerism and programs that promote quality living. In essence, the AARP Georgia team supports AARP's community, shaping and enriching the experience of aging for each member and for society.

I encourage you learn more about the many faces and facets of AARP Georgia and the many opportunities available to you as a member or potential member. Information on advocacy, community service, independent living, physical activity and much more is just a click away, and so are opportunities to volunteer. I hope you'll join us!
