The Andrus Society
The Andrus Society was established to recognize outstanding philanthropic contributions to the AARP Foundation. The Society honors individual philanthropists who have a passion for leading social change by ensuring that all Americans will age with independence, dignity and purpose. The Society was named in the memory of Ethel Percy Andrus, Ph.D., the founder of AARP and NRTA (National Retired Teachers Association).
Dr. Andrus was a renowned social innovator, educator and philanthropist. She believed that “The human contribution is the essential ingredient. It is only in the giving of oneself to others that we truly live.”
The Andrus Society wishes to distinguish and involve individuals through special orders of recognition.
The Society includes The Innovators Circle to honor donors of major gifts and The Founders Circle to honor donors of planned gifts.
