Éamon McInerney is in charge of Training and Professional Development in the European Commission's Directorate General for Employment, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities. His background is in management and organisation psychology where he spent almost all of his 28 year career dealing with human resource issues in public sector organisations, mainly at European level. The years from 1990 to 1995 were an exception: during this time Éamon was coordinator of a European programme aimed at improving the situation of older people and strengthening solidarity between generations across Europe.
