Dennis Byars

Dennis Byars serves as State Senator for Nebraska's 30th district. He is a three-term Senator, first appointed in 1988 and elected in 1998 and 2002. He is vice-chairperson of two committees: Education and Health & Human Services.
Byars also is the Executive Director of Beatrice Community Hospital Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to financially supporting the Beatrice Community Hospital and Health Center.
Dennis has served in various local elected positions and owned several businesses in his local community. He has been awarded several local, state, and national awards for excellence in public service.
Dennis Byars attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and served as a 1st lieutenant in the Nebraska Army National Guard.
He is married to wife Janet and has two sons, Mark and Jonathan.
