Anne-Sophie Parent is Director of AGE – the European Older People’s Platform since September 2002. Prior to that she was Director of Autism-Europe from October 1993 to May 1999 and played an important role in the establishment of the European Disability Forum. In May 1999, she had to resign from her position at Autism-Europe to join her husband who was sent as Ambassador of Belgium to Finland and Estonia.
Ms. Parent has remained involved in European NGOs as representative Autism-Europe to the Platform of European Social NGOs (Social Platform) and was elected at the Management Committee in March 2001. In March 2003, she was elected President of the Social Platform.
