I was just wondering if you know of any hotels in the Mystic Seaport, Conn., area that might be offering free gas cards. Are there any Web sites that I could check? Thanks for your time.

–Al, Little Falls, N.J.

A few hotel Web sites do list hotels that offer gas-card promotions, but even these lists are by no means comprehensive.

One list is offered by Bedandbreakfast.com, but as you might expect, it is focused exclusively on B&B's and not other types of accommodations. Click here for more.

BestWestern.com also has a number of locations offering gas cards, but obviously only Best Westerns are on this list.

Basically, Al, there is no central list. One recommendation I have is to call the hotel where you want to stay and ask about gas-card specials. If they aren't available, see what other specials the hotel offers that might appeal to you. Right now, it's a buyer's market for hotel rooms, so use that your advantage and bargain hard.
