I'm considering an extended (three to six months) stay in Europe. Where do I start looking for accommodations, such as a furnished apartment at a reasonable rate? -Jon, Lansing, Mich.

I would like to see the River Walk in San Antonio, Texas. Is there a special, inexpensive place to stay that is close by? Also, are there other things recommended to see while there? What would be a good choice of (reasonable) rental cars in that area? –Irene, Elk River, Minn.

Why won't the Holiday Inn in Boardman, Ohio, let me cancel a reservation? I made it on April 7, 2008 for a date at the end of May 2008, and I was told that I agreed to pay the rate when I thought that all I was doing was confirming the reservation. I need some help for this. Thank you. –William, Summerville, Tenn.

I'm a 43-year-old single female interested in visiting Ireland. I am interested in learning how the locals live and hope to become a part of their life for the time I am there. Should I perhaps stay on farms or bed-and-breakfasts, or get a local guide to show me around? –Jackie, West Hartford, Conn.

Peter, I'm taking a 10-day vacation in Buenos Aires. I think the exchange rate will be favorable and make the stay relatively cheap. I am also thinking of getting an apartment there. Any recommendations? Do you have any info on B.A. for sightseeing, or can you recommend a good guidebook? –Jeff, Denver, Colo.

Q: I foolishly purchased two time-share weeks many years ago and want to get rid of them. I've lost a lot of money trying to get them listed but have never heard back after they cashed my checks. I know there must be others in this situation who keep paying yearly maintenance fees to avoid legal trouble. If I just stop paying the maintenance fees, what is the worst that can happen to me? Please help! -Marion, Richmond, Va.

What destination would you suggest for a single, 60-year-old woman, traveling with two well-behaved, well-trained dogs? I love dog camps (such as Camp Gone to the Dogs in Vermont and Camp Dogwood in Illinois), hiking, boating, camping, animal rescue, and just plain relaxing. -Sue, Aurora, Ill.

Our group of eight ladies, all over 50 & former coworkers, are plannning a get-together. We live in New York, Virginia, North Carolina & Florida and are hoping for a central location to meet up. Looking for a getaway place for a "reunion" for a few days. Resorts are "in season" and too expensive. Can you recommend something that would fit the bill for us?
