The Fremont were an ancient agricultural people who first appeared in Utah's Range Creek Canyon around 400 A.D., then disappeared about a thousand years later. They are best known for their thin-walled gray pottery, unique basketweaving, and distinctive rock art. For fifty years, cattle rancher Waldo Wilcox kept the secret of the civilization's ruins.
