Q: Since all of my prescriptions come in bottles with three-month supplies (too many and too large to travel with on planes), what can I do in order to get my medicines through inspections? Normally, I carry them in containers marked for each day of the week. Thank you!
–Barbara, Richmond, Ky.
A: The answer here is simple. Most pharmacies sell multiple-pill, day-of-the-week dispensers, and your solution is to buy six of them. They still won't take up too much space in your carry-on bags, and as long as you bring photocopies of your original prescriptions or a note from your doctor (and make sure the name matches exactly the name on your driver’s license and/or passport), you will not have a problem with any airport security officer or overzealous customs official.
