On most commercial flights, the air carriers require that you can only have one carry-on. Does that include your attaché case?
-Richard, Chesterton, Ind.
If your attaché case is not unusually large, it will serve as your personal item, not your carry-on, on most flights. United describes their policy in this way: “For travel worldwide on United, you may carry on one bag and one personal item such as a purse, briefcase, or laptop computer.” The carry-on bag must also be relatively small and be able to fit under the seat or in the overhead compartment on the plane. When packing your attaché or carry-on, also note that some airlines have weight restrictions for carry-ons. British Airways, for example, has a 51-pound weight restriction for carry-on luggage. When flying, just make sure to check the airline's Web site to ensure that you will be able to fly hassle-free!
