Do you know if any American airline flies nonstop or direct to Montevideo, Uruguay, from the United States? If so, are there only certain times of the year, such as their, or our, summer? As a white-knuckle flier, I try to limit my takeoffs and landings whenever I fly.
-Paul, Malden, Mass.

There is only one regularly scheduled nonstop flight to Montevideo, Uruguay, from the United States. It is an American Airlines flight that departs from Miami, Fla., and takes about 9–10 hours. Your best bet is to take a flight from Boston’s Logan International to Miami, then take the nonstop flight to Montevideo.

There is also a nonstop return flight from Montevideo to Miami. The price depends on timing and class, with the cheapest round-trip (from Boston) in the vicinity of $1,250.
