Q: We're four friends traveling to Las Vegas in June (11-18). I've been reading about the Power Pass Card, but I can't figure out if it's a good choice if I'm going to buy a one-day card. Will you explain how I'm going to use it? What attractions, tours, and shows would you recommend to us?

A: The Power Pass Card offers free admission to more than 20 top attractions with a combined value of more than $500 in admissions fees. It is available for one, two, three, and five days (at prices of $75, $97.50, $125, and $165). The pass includes admission to 20 Las Vegas attractions, the most popular and widely recommended of which are Siegfried and Roy's Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat ($15) and the Stratosphere Tower ($10 to enter, rides $8), a Hoover Dam tour, and discounts at well known restaurants and retailers.
One of the most useful aspects will be the “Fast Tracking” at many attractions. Especially since you’re traveling during a popular vacation periods, the chance to skip the lines can save a lot of time and hassle. You can purchase your pass online ahead of time, and then pick it up at one of the designated points once you arrive in Las Vegas. The site www.viator.com has a straightforward, helpful breakdown of the pass’s inclusions and rules and can also be used to purchase your pass. However, you also need to do the math here: Unless you plan on actually visiting at least half the attractions available on the pass, it's not a good investment.
