In this special broadcast, we present some of the remarkable recordings collected by the Library of Congress in their ongoing Veterans History Project. These are the stories of veterans of America's 20th Century wars - as told to their family, friends or neighbors in their own voices. Host Mike Cuthbert, speaks to Ellen Lovell, director of the project, and Col. Lee Archer, a member of the famed Tuskegee Airmen and an ace fighter pilot in World War II. They introduce some of these moving and extraordinary recollections, and encourage listeners to find veterans in their own hometowns who have stories worth recording for future generations.
