Danger, heroism, and world domination may sound like the stuff of a Hollywood blockbuster, but that's exactly what was at stake in the great naval Battle of Trafalgar. Fought between the British and the combined Franco-Spanish fleets in October 1805, many argue that this famous battle was a turning point in Napoleon's eventual defeat at Waterloo.

In his book, Seize the Fire: Heroism, Duty, and the Battle of Trafalgar, historian Adam Nicolson uses the bloody and storied conflict on the high seas as a means to examine our modern concepts of heroism. Nicolson, a frequent guest on Prime Time Radio, talks with host Mike Cuthbert about honor, war, and the evolution of a global empire.
