After graduating from the MIT–the country’s beacon of high technology and advanced scientific research–Eric Brende, and his wife Mary, decided the complexities of a high-tech, modern life were not for them. They gave up their lives as they knew it and moved out west to an Amish-like farmland community to find out how little technology they could get by on. Eric talks with host Mike Cuthbert about his book, Better Off: Flipping the Switch on Technology, which chronicles how their lives changed when the lights went out.
