The AARP Rx Pledge

AARP is asking members of Congress and other federally elected officials to commit to the following pledge to work with AARP and enact a prescription drug benefit this year.

Please contact your U.S. Senators or Representative and urge them to join with AARP and sign the AARP Rx Pledge.

The AARP Rx Pledge

Congress must finally match results with promises and add a full, comprehensive prescription drug benefit within the Medicare program. I pledge to work with AARP and enact a Medicare Prescription Drug Benefit this year based on the following criteria:

All Medicare beneficiaries will have access to a stable prescription drug benefit on a voluntary basis;

Affordable prices will be the rule, not the exception;

Reasonable premiums, deductibles and co-payments will apply to everyone;

Prescription coverage will leave no individual with extraordinary out-of-pocket costs;

Reductions in soaring drug costs will keep the program affordable; and

Xtra help for low-income individuals will guarantee benefits for all who need them.

Want to see who cares about a prescription drug benefit? View a list of officials who have taken the pledge.
