Mary O'Donnell: Hi! In this AARP Tech Tips we'll take a look at some accessories for portable music players. Sandy, I can't believe the variety of things you brought today.
Sandy Berger: Yes, Mary, iPods and other digital audio players are so popular that they've spawned a wide range of accessory products.
Sandy: Some are focused on protecting the equipment like this Leather iPod case.
Mary: It looks like some of these are very useful as well.
Sandy: Yes. This arm band holds your music player securely on your arm while your excercise, and this lanyard lets you wear the player around your neck when you walk or exercise.
Mary: What about these Griffin EarThumps?
Sandy: The EarThumps are soft ear phones that come in three different sizes and are quite comfortable in your ears.
Mary: And these look fun!
Sandy: These thin pieces of plastic are called skins. They attach to the surface of an iPod or cell phone to give it an entirely different look. You can cover your music player with flowers, leopard spots, or logos of your favorite sports team. Skins are amazingly durable and easily removed without leaving any reisdue.
Mary: What does this little item do?
Sandy: This is an iTrip by Griffin Technology. You plug your iPod into it and it wirelessly transmits music from your iPod to your car radio.
Mary: These have been wonderful. I'll think I'll have to purchase one of those armbands for my next workout at the gym. Where can I find more information about these products?
Sandy: Links to these products can be found online at AARP.org/computers.
Mary: Thanks! Join us on the next AARP Video Tech Tips.
