This TV spot from Divided We Fail is part of a new advertising campaign that will reach national television, radio, online and print outlets. The spot highlights a woman injured in a car accident but forced to continue working because health care costs are too high: "What if you had to go to work no matter how hurt or sick you were? That's the reality for millions of Americans who are just one accident or illness away from financial ruin."

Representing more than 53 million Americans, AARP, Business Roundtable, the National Federation of Independent Business and Service Employees International Union joined together to form Divided We Fail last year to highlight the key issues of health care and financial security. To date, the group has received pledges of support to help ensure the issues of health care and financial security are dealt with from a half-million Americans in addition to hundreds of candidates running for the U.S. House, Senate and White House. Senators Clinton, McCain and Obama have all signed the pledge.
"Just bringing together these organizations is sending a message that America is ready to break Washington’s gridlock," said AARP Executive Vice President Nancy LeaMond. "The three presidential candidates and hundreds of their colleagues in Congress have already signed the Divided We Fail pledge. This latest advertising blitz will help ensure that when our elected leaders come together after the election they'll know the political will exists that allows them to tackle the difficult issues of providing quality, affordable health care and long-term financial security to every American."
